His large expansive works are perfectly suited for corporate and hotel spaces. His work can be found in many contemporary hotels, restaurants , boardrooms and private homes.

Commitment:

A professional artist committed to his craft, Koningen is a prolific painter continually expanding his application of abstract and semi - abstract painting. His ambition and dedication to his craft ensures clients can be confident in their investment.

Inspiration:

Koningen's formative years in Amsterdam with visits to the Rijsmuseum with grandparents introducing the young Koningen to the Masters of art. Life in this European city, from the cafe 'atmosphere', visits to the Rijsmuseum, and the bustling vibrant street markets are still very much a part of the artist's being. After living in the beautiful coastal resort village of Noosa Heads Australia for eight years Koningen has recently relocated to the historic and beautiful town of Brugge in Belgium. His love for abstract painting and his desire to expand his skills drew him back to northern Europe where he now has his studio gallery in the heart of town.

Newer works reflect this change in the artists influence of the tension of the colour and space of Australia and the more intense historic northern Europe.

Koningen is constantly working with new textures, applications and techniques. His work is constantly evolving, developing with energetic movement.

Passion:

It is rare to find an artist with such passion and dedication to abstraction and the process of painting. This passion translates directly to each canvas and continues to engage and excite the viewer.

"The visual experience of an abstract work can be an interesting journey of discovery. Different aspects of the work reveal itself to the viewer - the painting unfolds its secret layers, its movement and its depth with the passage of time."      - svein koningen
